In the month of November 2018, the VS team organized a “Marine & Offshore Tour” (M&O Tour) in three countries – Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore – to exhibit Dassault Systèmes’ Designed for Sea and Optimized Production for Sea industry solution experiences on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. The Tour was a mix of Dassault Systèmes-led event, trade sponsorships and customer meetings.

Some of the region’s most prominent maritime trade events were covered as part of the M&O Tour – the Malaysia International Maritime & Offshore Expo (MIMEX) from 7 to 9 November 2018 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) in Malaysia; the Workforce of the Future, Sustainable Industry Innovation & Engineering Excellence conference in Surabaya, Indonesia, on 13 November 2018; and the Maritime Digital Innovation Summit in Singapore from 14 to 15 November 2018.

The Asia Pacific South region houses some of the world’s important global transshipment hubs that link the sea routes of Europe, Africa and the Middle East to Asia. As a result, it is also the centre of key marine & offshore activities, notably developments in new technologies and new business models that are shaping the future of the maritime industry.

At each of these events, the Value Solutions team demonstrated new ways for maritime companies to transform the design, validation and manufacturing planning of marine & offshore projects utilizing the 3D virtual environment with Dassault Systèmes’ industry solution experiences. In the region, Dassault Systèmes already has a strong track record with the success of the Virtual Shipyard program in South Australia. The team looks towards replicating this success and transferring its worldwide best practices to its M&O business in the region.

In this blog, we bring you the highlights from each of these events.
