At our 3DEXPERIENCE FORUM event that took place in June, we proudly showcased our partnership with Base 11 on the Base 11 Space Challenge – a challenge to empower the next generation of rocket engineers in top universities across the country with monetary prizes up to $1 million for the first team-designed rocket to launch into space. Digital Engineering recently featured an interview with Landon Taylor (CEO of Base 11) and Al Bunshaft (senior vice president, Americas Global Affairs, Dassault Systèmes) on the details of the Space Challenge.
In the interview, Bunshaft highlighted the mission of the Challenge, which is to increase science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) participation from traditionally underrepresented groups in the field, such as women and minorities. Taylor further expanded on how the Base 11 Space Challenge came to be, with a mixture of his own ideas as well as the help and sponsorship of Dassault Systèmes.
The interview also covers what incentivized us to sponsor this event, and the fantastic line-up of schools we can expect to participate. To learn more about the Challenge and our involvement in building the workforce of the future, check out the interview here.
