Resilience drives performance at Cavo

Using the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, Turkey-based automotive supplier Cavo is delivering a high level of service to its customers while improving efficiency, productivity and stakeholder collaboration

Resilient automotive companies are not only better equipped to navigate complex challenges, but also more likely to outperform the competition. McKinsey reports that manufacturers that are making progress on resilience have increased profitability, a better ability to attract and retain talent and greater innovation than their peers.

Recognizing this, Turkey-based supplier of automotive safety products Cavo Otomotiv wanted to build resilience and improve the way it operates.

Founded in 1984, the company works with major global automotive companies – each of which has different expectations. “They all have their own data management system, design rules and procedures,” said Mustafa Yılmaz, who is responsible for product design at Cavo. “At the same time, OEMs are always looking for cost and weight reductions – but with the same quality and durability. We found it was getting difficult to keep up.”

To achieve greater resilience in an increasingly complex operating environment, Cavo worked with local partner infoTRON to implement the 3DEXPERIENCE platform with the Bid to Win industry solution experience for continuous product development as well as data and document management.


Now, with a single source of truth, Cavo has improved efficiency and shortened the development time for its products. Better internal and external collaboration has led to fewer errors and a faster design process. These combined benefits mean the company now has the time it needs to focus on future business objectives.

“We are now more innovative as a company,” Yılmaz said. “By making decisions faster, we can take our new products to market faster. This new level of efficiency means we have more time to work on our future goals. We will be able to spend time developing new products including brake pedal boxes, seat recliner mechanisms and window lifters. We can also raise the profile of our business in new markets around the world.”
