Dassault Systèmes today announced that AITAC has become its official CAA (Component Application Architecture) partner for the development, commercialization and deployment of OCX eXchanger, a solution enabling the seamless exchange of Open Class 3D Exchange (OCX) data within the 3DEXPERIENCE platform for the Marine & Offshore industry.
The announcement reinforces the long-standing collaboration between Dassault Systèmes and AITAC and supports the shipbuilding industry’s transition toward fully digital, model-based design and classification processes.
The OCX (Open Class 3D Exchange) standard has emerged as a key enabler of 3D Model-Based Approval, allowing shipyards, designers and classification societies to exchange vessel structural information through a standardized digital format rather than traditional 2D drawings. The standard is increasingly recognized across the shipbuilding industry as the foundation for more efficient design reviews, improved traceability and accelerated approval processes.

OCX eXchanger extends the value of the 3DEXPERIENCE platform by enabling customers to import, export and manage OCX-compliant data directly from their digital twin environment, supporting a more connected and collaborative ecosystem involving shipyards, engineering companies and classification societies.
“Shipbuilding is rapidly moving toward model-based engineering and model-based approval. OCX eXchanger represents a strategic capability that helps our customers accelerate digital continuity from design to classification while reducing manual data preparation and improving collaboration across the shipbuilding ecosystem,” said Jean-Benoît Bensoussan, Marine & Offshore Director, Dassault Systèmes.
AITAC has been actively involved in the development and promotion of OCX interoperability for several years and joined the OCX Consortium as an observer while developing OCX import and export capabilities for the 3DEXPERIENCE platform.

With more than 120 engineers and over two decades of experience in shipbuilding engineering and Dassault Systèmes solutions, AITAC combines deep marine engineering expertise with advanced digital transformation capabilities. As a certified Dassault Systèmes system integrator and reseller, the company supports customers worldwide in the deployment of 3DEXPERIENCE platform.
“Together with Dassault Systèmes, we are bringing the tools for true digital continuity directly into the hands of our customers. OCX eXchanger for the 3DEXPERIENCE platform closes the gap between 3D design and class approval in a way the industry has long needed, and this partnership formalizes our commitment to making model-based approval a reality for shipyards and classification societies worldwide.”, said Marijan Lorencin, CEO, AITAC.
The partnership will focus on:
- Continued development and enhancement of OCX eXchanger capabilities;
- Commercialization and customer deployment worldwide;
- Support for model-based approval initiatives with classification societies;
- Integration of OCX-based workflows into digital shipbuilding programs;

As the industry moves toward a single source of truth for ship design, engineering and approval, OCX eXchanger will help customers leverage the full power of the 3DEXPERIENCE platform while embracing open, standardized data exchange across the shipbuilding ecosystem. The initiative aligns with the broader industry vision of replacing traditional drawing-centric processes with digital twins and model-based collaboration, improving efficiency, quality and traceability throughout the ship lifecycle.
