Do you remember taking the 2018 SIMULIA Customer Satisfaction Survey in the spring? We would like to THANK YOU for all of your detailed feedback. YES, we do listen to what you say…all of it…and we appreciate your feedback so that we can improve what we do, and how we do it.
As in prior years, we had a strong response, with good representation of users from all around the world, including an increase in China. Due to feedback from last year, we added a new localized version of the survey for China this year. There was also a representative mix of survey participation from users in all 12 industries and all of our products.
In this post, we would like to share some highlights with you.
Satisfaction: The results of the survey show that overall user satisfaction with SIMULIA products and services is around 90%. In other words, 9 out of 10 of our users gave us a “good, very good, or outstanding” rating. We also received a similar rating for innovation, quality and reliability, business ethics, and satisfaction with technical support. While we are proud that we’ve sustained this high level of satisfaction for many years, we strive to do better. Thank you all for your feedback and comments, as it helps us to work toward our goal of 100% satisfaction.
Simulation on the 3DEXPERIENCE® platform: The number of survey respondents using simulation on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform has more than doubled compared to last year. The opinion of 3DEXPERIENCE platform quality and reliability also went up significantly. We are glad to see that the 3DEXPERIENCE platform quality and reliability is trending towards that of Abaqus – very highly regarded for quality and reliability.
High Performance Computing: Did you know that 2/3 of you use 8 cores or more to run your analysis? See the trend in the graph for the last 6 years. It is no surprise that the power to innovate through simulation is continuing to grow along with the rise in affordability of high performance computing hardware. In addition, you are telling us that the trend will continue, so our investments in parallel scaling will benefit you for years to come.
SIMULIA Online Communities: SIMULIA users are very active in our online user communities – SIMULIA Leaning Community and the SIMULIA Blog. We are glad to see the growing trend that more and more of our users share their knowledge and experience in the application of realistic simulation, including optimization technology and methods.
Training: It is interesting to see that a majority of our users (57%) prefer classroom training – either public or onsite. We are proud to inform you that SIMULIA and our education partners offer regularly scheduled public seminars as well as training courses in both formats – classroom and online. Cloud: The number of customers currently using and/or evaluating cloud based simulation solutions has been increasing. We believe that this trend will continue to rise rapidly with SIMULIA Cloud™, which provides secure, web-based access to a powerful simulation suite anywhere, anytime. It is a multi-user system that enables engineers to easily and intuitively manage simulation projects, to collaborate seamlessly with colleagues, and use powerful simulation or results analysis tools with just a web browser. Additional Simulation Tools: A majority of users (>50%) reported 1) Fatigue, Durability and Fracture, and 2) Optimization, as highly beneficial simulation capabilities that they are not using now.
