In R2021x FD06, we have two new roles with the 3DEXPERIENCE platform on-premise: the Supplier Item Manager (XSP) and Component Request Engineer (XCR). These two roles work together to provide a process for requesting a Manufacturer Equivalent Item (that we call MEI). Different actors in the process use these roles.
The user requesting a Manufacturer Equivalent Item uses the Component Request Engineer role. All the actors involved in the approval workflow for this requested MEI also use this role.
Supplier Item Manager is used to manage all the component requests that come in and to create the MEI and the General & Equivalent Qualifications associated with the MEI.
