Here at Dassault Systèmes, we equip the world’s most innovative companies with scientifically accurate virtual environments that allow them to build, test, iterate, innovate and solve our planet’s most pressing problems more efficiently and sustainably than if they had to build things and break them in the real world.
That’s a B2B definition. The human impact is realized in lives changed around the world. In recent years, vaccines were developed, concert halls reopened, cars took flight, Lascaux Cave was revisited, sailboats flew across the Atlantic, and countless living rooms were redesigned using our solutions.
That’s what we mean by “Virtual Worlds for Real Life.”
Our new tagline: ‘Virtual Worlds for Real Life’
For us, the tagline is more than just words. It’s in our DNA. We’ve been building to this for more than 40 years.
Our company was born from an idea to evolve 2D CAD into three-dimensional surface design, progressed into digital mockup and product lifecycle management and paved the way for platformization and virtual twin experiences. Leveraging the heritage of our legacy, we’ve transformed the world we live in by revealing the power of virtual worlds to improve and extend the real one. Now, we’re focused on building to a Generative Economy, which will benefit our customers and future generations.
“These words express our belief in a simple and direct way that underscores our commitment to making the power of virtual worlds accessible and impactful for all businesses and people,” explains Victoire de Margerie, our VP of Corporate Equity, Strategy and Communications. “This new tagline is designed to help people understand what Dassault Systemes stands for and what we bring to the world.”
The new tagline clarifies our story. It answers the question of What does Dassault Systèmes do? And, as de Margerie points out, it also “helps to build a stronger link between our company brand and our ‘product’ brands.” Like our original brand CATIA, the renowned SOLIDWORKS and MEDIDATA, or the less publicized 3DVIA, just to list a few.
From connecting data, people and processes with ENOVIA to developing vaccines in record time with MEDIDATA decentralized clinical trials to redesigning the space you call home with HomeByMe, the common thread that runs through our diverse array of products has become our tagline: “Virtual Worlds for Real Life.”
That tagline was on display for a few million people over the second half of 2024 in the form of activations at London’s Piccadilly Circus and St. Pancras train station, as well as the Charles-de-Gaulle and Orly airports in Paris.
For the Piccadilly takeover, an immersive 3D video invited viewers to imagine a factory of the future, picture the city of tomorrow, consider complex medical procedures and dream of space exploration. At the transit hubs, sharp imagery and text show precisely what we mean when we say that virtual worlds extend and improve the real.
Breaking down Dassault Systèmes’ new tagline: Virtual Worlds for Real Life
With that established, we’ll break down the tagline even further. Let’s get into it.
Virtual Worlds
Our virtual twin experiences aren’t meant for entertainment – they’re designed to tackle the greatest challenges of our time.
Our virtual worlds begin with designing a scientifically-accurate 3D model that represents a physical product or system’s shape, dimensions and properties. Simulations run on that virtual model can explore and test how the product will behave once assembled and operated. Establishing a dynamic, continuous cycle of information between the virtual and real words provides a closed loop that leads to greater innovation.
In other words, you can test, iterate, and even break new products without ever building a physical prototype. This helps boost productivity, product quality and business resilience.
Scale it up another level: virtual twins of entire enterprises take continuous flow of connected experiences that can help organizations operate differently, understanding value chains to develop new ways of working and new innovations. The 3DEXPERIENCE platform provides virtual worlds that connect an organization’s entire ecosystem in a single unified environment. Our virtual twins enable a closed loop connection between the virtual and real worlds.
You can imagine, for instance, how our factory virtual twins help enterprises optimize manufacturing processes, but did you know that corporate offices, hospitals and concert halls alike used virtual twins to simulate airflow as part of their plans to re-open during the COVID-19 pandemic?

At a municipal level, cities can collect data and leverage virtual twins to better understand everything from their water and energy systems to traffic patterns and the impact of climate change. And, at an individual human level, virtual twins of organs can help surgeons better understand complex medical procedures, leading to better outcomes.
for Real Life
The second of the phrase is just as crucial. It’s the quiet part that must be said out loud. Virtual worlds indeed enable progress in the real world, but our virtual is nothing without the real. And we are nothing without the humans who use our solutions to create and innovate. We’re not talking about cartoon avatars gallivanting around the metaverse.
We’re talking about the real world feeding the virtual with data, creating symbiosis and improving them both. This is how our solutions address real-life challenges. We see the impact on reality every day through our customers and partners: innovators driving human progress. The word “for” is not there by chance. This ‘for’ stands for our uniqueness. As de Margerie says: “The word ‘for’ shows that virtual worlds aren’t just for entertainment or games. They are grounded in science and built to create real impact.”
The most iconic taglines don’t just clarify a story; they create resonance by speaking to two sides of the same coin. Nike’s “Just do it.” L’Oreal’s “Because you’re worth it.” Toyota’s “Let’s go places.” They make an impression. They’re an invitation to use a company’s product and knowledge and know-how to achieve human progress. They’re memorable.
Our science-based approach to building virtual worlds changes life for the better. It empowers us to make the impossible possible. This tagline brings together deep technology and human purpose.
It reflects how we make innovation matter—for businesses, for people and for life. Leading the way to a Generative Economy.
