The solution to conquer the current COVID-19 crisis is to find and globally provide a vaccine for people. Israel’s MIGAL Galilee Research Institute, specialized in biotechnology and computational sciences, plant science, precision agriculture and environmental sciences, as well as food, nutrition and health, is working on one such solution.

For the past few years, MIGAL scientists were studying coronavirus in poultry. When the pandemic started, they realized that they could take their existing work and apply it to the race to find a vaccine for SARS-CoV-2. Dassault Systèmes’ BIOVIA application helps MIGAL guide its laboratory and experiment management processes with a digital approach that speeds research results and allows them to quickly analyze the gathered data. Their ultimate goal now is a fast-track development of a vaccine for COVID-19, but also find a flexible system to respond to the rapid changes of the virus. BIOVIA’s tools help the institute study mutations of the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

Within 90 days, MIGAL wants to deliver a coronavirus vaccine for human testing. To find out more, watch the video below.
