3DEXPERIENCE Forum 2022 is our flagship event, bringing together experts from a plethora of sectors including manufacturing, infrastructure and cities, and life sciences and healthcare. This year, we took a hybrid approach —attendees could attend in-person at JW Marriott, Aerocity, New Delhi and also had an option to attend virtually.
The event focused on ‘Virtual Twin Experiences’, a revolutionary concept to drive business resilience and sustainability. As the Government of India aims to cut carbon emissions to net zero by 2070, businesses must dramatically transform themselves. Products are no longer enough for today’s consumers.Today, accelerating innovation is synonymous with accelerating sustainability. Indian businesses are increasingly recognizing the importance of sustainability and therefore, they are ensuring it’s engraved to their products thus concentrating more on sustainable development.Virtual Twin technology delivers strongly on the promise of enhanced sustainability. A virtual twin solution puts the human experience at the center of everything designed and produced, Hence, the theme of this year’s event was ‘Virtual Twin Experiences for Resilience and Sustainability’.
The event kicked off with an auspicious lamp lighting ceremony and pulsating opening act where audience witnessed how product, nature and life are beating in harmony through the power of virtual twin technology.
Our executive team inaugurated the event. Deepak NG, India, Managing Director, Dassault Systèmes set the wheels in motion and emphasized on the power of Digitalization and Virtual Twins to foster a thriving society and shared how technology is bridging industry & societal gaps to drive a resilient, sustainable future in India. This was followed by a session from Bernard CHARLÈS, Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Dassault Systèmes as he uniquely defined the theme of the event. “It is not only about digitalization. I think digitalization is a technique. But what is happening in the world these days is the virtualization of the world, this is a beautiful possibility to imagine and use science to govern the imagination and transform imagination to real solutions for the world” – said Bernard CHARLÈS.
Florence VERZELEN, Executive Vice President, Industry, Marketing and Sustainability, Dassault Systèmes shed light on how sustainability and business growth needs to be thought together. “It’s time that we realize that the sustainability advantage is real and measurable. Businesses can transform operations to achieve this advantage in the Virtual Universe.” She added.
The plenary sessions also featured success stories from giants like Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL), VE Commercial Vehicles Ltd, and L&T Energy Hydrocarbon to startups like Lucid Implants, Padcare Labs, and BrainSightAI.
Nitin SETH, Chief Executive Officer, New Mobility, Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) laid the roadmap for adopting green energy sources like hydrogen & reiterated ”To drive sustainable transformation in mobility, we must remodel business operations, promote design thinking and adopt virtual twin across the end-to-end value stream”
An amazing outpour of insights by Rajesh MISHRA, Executive Vice President, Corporate Process and IT, VE Commercial Vehicles Ltd on how they’re using Virtual Twin technology to enable end-to-end digital continuity across the enterprise, to accelerate sustainable Innovation & deliver automobiles to market quickly.
Atul K PARANJAPE, Vice President, Group Digital and IT, L&T Energy Hydrocarbon, shared incredible insights on how improving productivity means achieving sustainability. “L&T Energy Hydrocarbon believes in Imagineering, and virtual twin technology is helping them convert their imagination to reality much faster and bring value to end users” he said.
Next was a session from Startups as they uncovered their success story. Ajinkya DHARIYA, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, PadCare Labs said “By using 3DEXPERIENCE Platform we developed the entire solution right from CAD modelling, formulation simulation, record maintenance and complete lifecycle analysis and could create greener solutions.” This session progressed with another insightful discussion featuring Prashanth RAY, Co-founder and Director, Lucid Implants and Laina EMMANUEL, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, BrainSightAI where they shared how 3DEXPERIENCE Lab helped them deliver patient-specific implants and AI-driven mental health solutions respectively.
Lastly, Deepak NG, Managing Director, Dassault Systèmes India and Shree HARSHA, India Marketing and Strategic Planning Director, Dassault Systèmes summarized the plenary sessions and also highlighted how Dassault Systèmes is committed to nurture and empower the workforce of the future with the La Fondation initiative ‘Seed The Entrepreneurs’.
After Plenary, we stepped into specific breakouts covering topics like – Sustainable Innovation, Supply Chain to Value Network and Virtual Twin for Business Resilience.
Breakout 1: Sustainable Innovation
Shreejith RADHAKRISHNAN, Senior Manager, Strategic Accounts, Transportation & Mobility, Dassault Systèmes, kick started the session and laid out the roadmap to achieve efficient battery cell development, EV manufacturing improvement with Virtual Twin technology and shed light upon the latest developments in the Indian EV battery ecosystem.
Laurence MONTANARI, Vice President, Transportation & Mobility, Dassault Systèmes, discussed how companies can accelerate sustainable innovation with the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform. “3DEXPERIENCE Platform serves different industries so users can connect to the solutions from transportation and mobility, High-tech, infrastructure and cities in order to collaborate in an efficient way”, She added.
In the next session, on behalf of Tejas KUSURKAR, Co-Founder & Chief Executive Officer, Offgrid Energy Labs, Aditi BARUA, Research Associate, Offgrid Energy Labs, highlighted their phenomenal experience with Dassault Systèmes and how 3DEXPERIENCE Platform is helping the entire design team in modelling, simulation and automated manufacturing for ZincGel Battery and deliver profitable, maintenance-free renewable energy storage, lowest battery life-cycle-cost for microgrids, high-rate capability for grid balancing.

The next session witnessed insights from our tandem of experts Ganesan KRISHNAMURTHY, Industry Value Expert, Transportation & Mobility, Dassault Systèmes and Lalitha SUBRAMANIAN, Senior Director, Contract Research, BIOVIA, Dassault Systèmes, as they discussed how Virtual Twin Experiences on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform enable improved Battery Cell, Pack design and the Gigafactory Cell Manufacturing Process Improvement for Formation and Ageing.
Neerav MEHTA, Senior Deputy General Manager Project Control & Digitalization, L&T Energy Hydrocarbon (LTEH) shared his perspective on how 3DEXPERIENCE Platform and digitalization is enabling collaboration between stakeholders and how it helps improve productivity, predictability, data integration, resource optimization, avoid rework thus attaining sustainability.

Breakout 2: From Supply Chain to Value Network
To kick off our exclusive track exploring how enterprises can embrace digital transformation and progress from ‘Supply Chain to Value Network’, Ravikiran POTHUKUCHI, Director, Manufacturing & Logistics, Dassault Systèmes shared the three elements – Resilience, Sustainability and Agility that are required to convert the traditional supply chains into complex value networks. Ashish GOYAL, General Manager of Strategic Sourcing at Jindal Stainless Limited, highlighted how organizations deploying resilient and future-proof supply chains are better able to manage and adapt to unforeseen disruptions and address associated risks thus explaining the importance of reimagining and future-proofing the supply chains for business resilience.
Vikram JOSHI, Head of Analytics at Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, explained “3DEXPERIENCE platform is driving value within their organization through connected networks at the time of product development thus helping them create decision frameworks, redefine the entire sourcing process and reducing time to market.”
Then Morgan ZIMMERMANN, Chief Executive Officer, NETVIBES, Dassault Systèmes explained, “Organizations are able to optimize sourcing opportunities through data driven product and supplier insights, providing greater clarity in the areas of industry trends, market intelligence, supply chain visibility, and category management”.
Parna GHOSH, Vice President & CIO, UNO MINDA Group, in his exclusive fireside chat with Kiran DIVEKAR, Director, India Business Planning, Dassault Systèmes, discussed the importance of virtually designing, executing, evaluating and managing value networks to ensure agile, sustainable and seamless manufacturing in the real world.

Breakout 3: Virtual Twin Experience for Digital Resilience
Praveen MYSORE, India Industry Consultant Director, Dassault Systèmes highlighted the latest trends in the Aerospace & Defense, and the Marine & Offshore industries.
Patrick FARDEAU, Vice President, Global Market Development, Aerospace & Defense Industry, Dassault Systèmes stressed on the importance of Virtual Twin technology, how it is helping companies design a prototype, design the manufacturing process, design assembly line thus digitalizing business processes across assets and optimizing operations and improve integrity.
François-Xavier DUMEZ, Vice President, Marine & Offshore Industry at Dassault Systèmes, showcased how Virtual Twin capabilities offered by the 3DEXPERIENCE platform helps optimize design, manufacturing & maintenance of marine systems to ensure they are built for the varying and volatile conditions of the sea.
Next was a session by Akhilesh Kumar JHA, Senior Scientist, Aeronautical Development Establishment, giving insights on how the 3DEXPERIENCE Cloud is a high-performance computing platform for any type of engineering simulation.
3DEXPERIENCE Playground: Experiencing Virtual Twin Technology Live In Action
The “3DEXPERIENCE Playground Tour” took the audience to a new dimension of experience. The 3DEXPERIENCE Playground featured interactive demo zones for Manufacturing, Infrastructure and Cities, Virtual Twin as a Service, Seed the Entrepreneurs and Future of design offering attendees the opportunity to deep-dive into the various technology levers in action. In the Manufacturing experience zone, attendees could discover how they can boost Electric Vehicle innovation, drive innovation in consumer electronics, achieve program excellence in Aerospace & Defense and were able to also witness an immersive design review experience with Virtual reality.
In the Infrastructure and Cities experience zone, attendees could learn about processes and systems that will enable us to best create comfortable, beautiful, dynamic, and sustainable structures and cities. Also, how Virtual Twin technology can change the way energy and materials are sourced, produced and used, to shape our future way of living.
Another interesting experience zone ‘Seed The Entrepreneur’ showcased how Dassault Systèmes – La Fondation, in collaboration with Atal innovation mission- NITI Aayog started the ‘Seed The Future Entrepreneurs Program’ to create culture of innovation and entrepreneurship amongst the school students. It inspired many young minds to develop many innovative products as their start-ups across India.Attendees could explore the top innovative projects of this program demonstrated by the students themselves.
One of the key highlights of the event was an exclusive display of the brand-new Mahindra Scorpio-N, which was entirely designed and built using Virtual Twin Experiences powered by the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. Our customers got a 360-degree view of the car’s capabilities & the technology behind bringing “The Big Daddy of SUVs” to life.
