On-demand aviation, or hailing an air taxi has the potential to radically improve urban mobility, and the technology required to usher in a new passenger experience is, for all practical purposes, already here.  According to Aviation Week & Space Technology former Editor in Chief Tony Velocci, Urban air mobility (UAM) vehicles are flying and being tested around the world. So rapidly is this transportation revolution emerging says Velocci—albeit still in the early stages—that a large-scale market in air taxis and associated services is widely expected by the mid- to late 2030s.

At CES 2020 in Las Vegas (Jan. 5-8) Bell Textron Inc., a leader in air transport revealed how it sees the future of urban mobility in the era of smart cities.  The company demonstrated how its Bell Nexus Air Taxi and Autonomous Pod Transport (APT), are “both groundbreaking technologies that will coexist to move people, products and information across connected cities.”

We had the chance during CES to talk to Scott Drennan, VP of Innovation at Bell about how he envisioned the future of mobility. Check out the video.
