This post is in continuation from our last post: Design and share anywhere, anytime on any device with CATIA xDesign

CATIA xDesign supports data import from various formats like SOLIDWORKS Part, CATIA Part, SOLIDWORKS/CATIA assembly, 3DXML, STEP, IGES, etc.

In this post, we will show how to import CATIA V5 assembly and its behavior in CATIA xDesign.

  • Zip file of CATIA V5  assembly data required for import into CATIA xDesign.
  • CATIA V5 geometries are available without its specifications but can be reused and edited with xDesign direct edit functionality.
  • V5 assembly constraints are lost at import but their respective positions are kept. It is possible to lock positions with xDesign lock mate.
