Dassault Systèmes delivers science-based, sustainability-driven solutions for businesses across various industries. Our culture is deeply rooted in science and we emphasize promoting scientific knowledge and education. Therefore, we support initiatives that train and inspire the next generation of scientists and innovators. The internship/apprenticeship programs at Dassault Systèmes serve as a great example.

Our student interns work alongside the experts in science and engineering while they directly contribute to large-scale projects. Through challenging and meaningful work, Dassault Systèmes ensure the student interns feel valued and motivated to make a positive impact. We welcome their fresh ideas and perspectives and support them as they develop their innovative solutions. These experiences also provide mentorship and networking opportunities, helping the interns achieve their career goals and resulting in a stronger talent pipeline for Dassault Systèmes.

Amaury GIARD is a senior studying computer science at École Centrale de Lyon. He returned in January 2023 for his second internship at BIOVIA after a 6-month internship at the Dassault Systèmes’ Corporate Research Department in France. His current project focuses on applications of artificial intelligence (AI) on protein modeling.

I find working on applications of AI in biology fascinating, and this internship is a great way to complete my studies in computer science. I like that I am quite free with what I do and can focus on what I find to be most interesting, but know that I have mentors to help when needed. This experience at BIOVIA helps me develop new skills and discover novel applications of AI in the medical field. It also helps me refine my career goals as I understand better how R&D departments function in a leading, global company like Dassault Systèmes.

Chengeng Yang is a Ph.D. student in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Connecticut and has joined Dassault Systèmes as an intern in the Biosciences Industry Process Consultant team in North America. She is currently involved in projects with applications of AI and machine learning (ML) in life sciences such as biologics design.

I joined the team about 2 months ago, and it has been a great experience so far. I learned so much from my supervisors and peers about the techniques I use in my projects. I also developed better communication skills, which will have a positive impact on my career. What I appreciate most about Dassault Systèmes is the collaborative team environment; it is very motivating to see every team member working together closely. I would strongly recommend applying to an internship at Dassault Systèmes.

Both Amaury and Chengeng are eager to keep learning and advancing their current projects under the mentorship of Anne Goupil-Lamy, PhD and Niranjani Iyer, PhD.

By supporting research and development efforts, the interns gain valuable experience, on-the-job skills and help the company stay ahead of the curve in a rapidly evolving technological landscape. By investing in the future of the workforce, Dassault Systèmes drives innovation, growth, and development and positions itself as a leader in the software industry.
