Diversity and gender equity are key values here at Dassault Systèmes. Our dedication was on display on March 8, as we celebrate International Women’s Day 2023 (IWD) with a comprehensive internal program of events designed to spark a conversation on how to get beyond “equal” opportunities.
Equity vs. Equality
#EmbraceEquity is the theme for IWD 2023. The intention is to get people talking about the differences between equality and equity and understanding why equal opportunities aren’t enough. People come from different places, so true inclusion and belonging requires an ongoing commitment to move us forward. To learn more, watch the video below.
IWD 2023 at Dassault Systèmes
International Women’s Day is always a global event here at 3DS. The main feature is an internal conference inviting worldwide employees to learn about commitments toward accelerating diversity and inclusion and gender equality and equity.
This year’s theme was “Building an inclusive workplace for all.” Here’s a peek at the agenda:
- We heard updates on our commitment to gender diversity from EVP and Chief People & Information Officer Laurence Barthes.
- Global Talent Acquisition and Sourcing Director Celine Hulot shared strategies for how to build inclusive teams across the world.
- Vice-President Corporate Equity, Marketing & Communications Victoire de Margerie joined us to discuss accelerating gender diversity at Dassault Systèmes.
- Guest speaker Ambassador Amanda Ellis explored the power of one, and how you can contribute to great changes
Our featured speaker was former New Zealand Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations in Geneva. She serves as Executive Director Asia-Pacific for the Global Institute of Sustainability and Innovation.
Ellis is a founding member of the Global Banking Alliance for Women and the recipient of the TIAW Lifetime Achievement Award for services to women’s economic empowerment.
Extended global celebrations and communities
Beyond the main event, we always celebrate International Women’s Day with worldwide local events, including local watch parties, and local speakers – and this year was no different.
We also invited everyone to participate in the #EmbraceEquity photo and social campaign, featuring our 3DS people.
Later this month, we’ll have a second conference encouraging employees to “Create Your 3DS Story.”
The commitment to accelerating gender diversity at Dassault Systèmes doesn’t stop with International Women’s Day – not even close.
Throughout the year, we’ll hold dedicated events and activities supporting women in technology and more.
The engine driving most of these great events: Our Women’s Initiative Network (WIN). WIN at 3DS was founded a decade ago and has since grown into a vibrant, global community.
