We are counting down to the 3DEXPERIENCE Modeling and Simulation Conference taking place in Novi, Michigan on September 18-19th! We are excited to bring together the Dassault Systèmes design, modeling and simulation communities to drive engineering discovery.  We sat down with one of the presenters at the conference, Guillaume Donval, an Innovation Architect with SIMULIA, to talk about his presentation, “Bringing Simulation to Life with Advanced Visualization and Immersive Virtuality.”

What is the title of your presentation and some of the highlights you will be discussing?

The title of the presentation is, “Bringing Simulation to life with Advanced Visualization and Immersive Virtuality.”

As simulation has become an integral part of the development process throughout all industries, it has brought with it a demand for increased digitization, and expanded use cases. By encompassing more and more complex and multi-scale phenomena such as structural, fluid, thermal, and electromagnetic forces, modern simulation allows companies to more accurately visualize their goals, and share their results with a wider audience.  Therefore, simulation is no longer simply about generating data; it now involves visualizing it in a meaningful, intuitive and interactive way.

Register NOW! To see the unseeable, witness the unmade, and reveal the full experience. Immersive Virtuality is a process where by marrying simulation with the continual advances of Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), and Mixed Reality (MR) we can reach new development goals.

We see three main areas that can be used to define the possibilities offered by Advanced Visualization and Immersive Virtuality:

  • See the Unseeable
  • Witness the yet unmade
  • Reveal the full experience

Why is your presentation relevant to this event’s audience? What are three main takeaways the audience can expect at the conclusion of your presentation?

By extending its scope and encompassing more and more complex and multi-scale phenomena, such as structural, fluid, thermal, and electromagnetic forces, simulation creates fantastic new opportunities but at the same time also greater demands from a wider audience. By bridging the gaps between the virtual world and the real world, Advanced Visualization and Immersive Virtuality can transform any new demands into advantages and bring value to the whole company.

The advantages of using Advanced Visualization and Immersive Virtuality:

  • Enables companies to more accurately visualize their goals and share their results with a wider audience, both internally and externally
  • Allows for improved decision-making and findings at each stage of the development process
  • Leads to better product design by encompassing all aspects of the product and its environment and virtually creates the actual full experience, hence making the end-user experience part of the development process early on.

What do you see are the benefits of someone listening to your presentation?

At Dassault Systèmes, we believe that the future is bright and exciting for simulation and Immersive Virtuality. When the two technologies come together, the result has the potential to spark the next phase of the Industry Renaissance.
