We were once again blinded by Science in the Age of Experience in Boston last week! At this year’s event we focused on 4 themes: Science is Personal, Science is Material, Science is Discovering, and Science is Sustaining, and had a multitude of great presentations from our distinguished keynote speakers as well as from our customers.  The week was also filled with many learning opportunities for our community of scientists and engineers to explore new ideas, new ways to innovate, and also to hear about advancements being made now that will directly impact how we live in the future.

We started off the week with some great symposiums, which included Additive Manufacturing, Material Modeling and Simulation Data Science and also hosted a successful Additive Manufacturing hack-a-thon where the winning team of University of Miami took home a $5,000 prize!

The plenary sessions included an array of prestigious keynote speakers including Nobel Prize winner, Dr. Michael Rosbash of Brandeis University, Dr. Byron Pipes from Purdue University, Dr. Bruno Ferre of Digital Orthopaedics, and Nyle Miyamoto from Boeing.

The week continued with special guest speakers, Dr. Stephanie Feih of Singapore Institute of Manufacturing and Technology and Dr. Jim Kaculi of Dril-Quip, inc., who gave in depth presentations about industry challenges and solutions and experimental analysis.

Our event would not be a success without the support of our sponsors.  They were active in our 3DEXPERIENCE playground where they hosted live demos and interacted with our customers.  Many of them also participated in our integrated solutions sessions and gave presentations on how their software solutions pair with SIMULIA products to create successful outcomes.

We hosted many great breakout sessions, training, and industry process updates where attendees were able to get a technical deep dive in realistic simulation.

Finally, we headed to the New England Aquarium for an amazing reception with employees, attendees, partners and event staff.  The reception gave us an opportunity to unwind and discuss the happenings of the week and discuss with each other about all the new things we learned during the week.

Enjoy the update video below! And be sure to check the SIMULIA Learning Community in the coming weeks for all of the conference proceedings and more!
