Suryanshu Choudhury
Senior Manager, Ambuja Cements Ltd
With more than 15 years of rich experience in using GEOVIA software for various commodities (Copper, Cobalt, Iron, Limestone, Bauxite and Manganese etc.), Suryanshu is an accomplished individual in the mining industry. He implemented his knowledge in Surpac, MineSched and Whittle for computerized Resource evaluation, Geostatistics, Mine planning, design, mine Optimization and Scheduling at various leading mining companies in India and overseas.
Currently he is associated with Ambuja Cements Ltd (A Lafarge-Holcim Group Company) at Mumbai, India and is a certified competent person by Lafarge Holcim Group. In addition, Suryanshu continually shares his skills and expertise on information technology application in mining industry to mining and geological fraternity globally. He has published over 30 technical papers in international and national level journals and seminars.
Further, he has been recognized as a distinguished mining engineer in India through the receipt of a number of awards including the Eco Friendly Mining Award, SRG Informational Technology Award, Prof HR Anireddy Memorial award and Sitaram Rungta Memorial award.

Stephen Miller
Manager, Red Rock Engineering
Stephen is a passionate mining engineer who constantly seeks new mining challenges to approach. His many accomplishments are all related to learning from the past, both failures and successes and adapting those learning to face the future challenges. An avid Surpac user, Stephen currently works as a Contract Mining Engineer for Red Rock Engineering Pty Ltd (RRE) where he applies his knowledge in developing mining projects in a variety of commodities from all over the world.
RRE is involved in projects at all phases from initial project evaluation while in the exploration phase right through to the review of existing operational issues and opportunities. Examples of his working history includes airleg mining in the Kalgoorlie Gold Fields, underground coal mining in Collie WA, mechanized underground mining at Renison Tin in Tasmania, open pit gold at the Mupane Project in Botswana to now working on a high technology mechanized underground project in East Germany.
